I’m not dead yet

Just like the title states. I’d like to write everything that I have been up to, but that would take too long. Just like anyone else, life happens. Happy to say I have been sketching again as of late. Here’s some pinup sketches I’ve been working on.

Tura, Tura, Tura! III Show! and more

Some new updates, apologies on not posting as of late. To be perfectly honest, if you would like to keep up on the latest news, the majority of my posts are over on Facebook! I'm trying to post here more often, but my phone doesn't like Blogger too much. To keep up on the latest updates check out the other social media sites I'm on:

Erica Hesse Facebook!

And here's some things that are going on…..

Speed! Sex! Violence! Here's my piece for the Tura Tura Tura! III show! So many fantastic artists contributing for such a great event! Show is December 6th at Lethal Amounts gallery in LA! I won't be there unfortunately, but this baby will be!

Piece is 10 x 13 done in acrylics and india ink on 100# Arches watercolor paper.

New sketch card set, Kringle Kards! by Breygent Marketing. One of my sketch cards is being made into a base card for the set. Too cool!

More exciting news on the way, something different but along the same lines of things I like to do. Not much of a hint, but I really don't want to jinx it! Hoping everyone has been having a great holiday season so far, and will  post more news soon!

XO,
Erica!

Remember when…

Remember that Harley Quinn contest? Where you had a chance to illustrate a page for a chance to be published? Well I got a wild hair up my caboose and decided to throw my hat at it. (I'm not one really for contests because I believe you really should get compensated for your skill) My original plan was to pencil, ink, and colorize it, the whole SHA-BANG! But with other deadlines pending at the time I managed to at least get the pencils done.

I wanted to do it because despite the controversy surrounding the content, I thought the storytelling would be challenging. Perspective, buildings, cause I love drawing buildings, and how to bring humor to what would normally be seen as dark subject matter. Anyhoo after all was said and done for some reason I kept getting an error message uploading the final art to the website. Not sure if they ever got it or not, but it made me realize something…

How much I love drawing comics! Illustrating pinups is fantastic, but there's something a bit different about illustrating comics. Just thought I share.
